I doubt anything Neil Sedaka wrote would have been about a woman.
Though apparently he is not gay.

I met a girl who was going to have "Beautiful Girl" by INXS as her first dance at her wedding.
I pointed out it was about a prostitute and she changed her mind.

Light my Fire by the doors is about a time when Ray manzerick was having difficulty lighting a campfire and was shown how to build a fire properly, starting with straw and building with incrementally larger sticks.

That song was written in 1960, well before Mallet came on the scene, otherwise spot on

The Timmy Mallet song ‘Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’ was not an ode to him being a future suspect in Operation Yewtree. This was confirmed in a press statement, but Mallet has still refused to divulge the true details of what inspired the song, stating that at the time of writing, he was ‘under extreme pressure’, a fact he says was evident by his constant ill-judged cutting of his jeans.

People now like to say it's a misconception that "Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds" is about LSD.
Regardless of what Lennon said, it blatantly is.

On a slight tangent- Arab Strap are not named after 'The Boy With The Arab Strap' by Belle and Sebastian; however, the the song is partially about Aidan Moffat from Arab Strap as he used to be friendly with B&S but I think he was a bit pissed off about that song.

The Cheeky Song (Touch my bum) by The Cheeky Girls is a post-modern look at the values of second wave feminism in 1960's.
